TO REACH MEMBERS LOCATED ALL OVER THE COUNTRY WITH VARYING WORK SCHEDULES, ASRT HAS DEVELOPED ONLINE EDUCATION PROGRAMS THAT ARE AVAILABLE 24/7. THESE PROGRAMS ARE A LIFELINE TO THE RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGY COMMUNITY.
THE ASRT ADVOCATES FOR THE MEDICAL IMAGING AND RADIATION THERAPY PROFESSIONS AND DEVELOPS PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS. FOR EXAMPLE, ASRT PRODUCES EDUCATIONAL CURRICULA; DEVELOPS PRACTICE STANDARDS AND SCOPES OF PRACTICE; PROMOTES A PROFESSIONAL CODE OF ETHICS; ISSUES POSITION STATEMENTS ON PRACTICE-RELATED ISSUES; AND WORKS WITH ACCREDITORS, CERTIFICATION BODIES, REGULATORY AGENCIES, AND STATE AND FEDERAL LAWMAKERS TO ENSURE THAT INDIVIDUALS PERFORMING MEDICAL IMAGING AND RADIATION THERAPY ARE EDUCATIONALLY PREPARED AND CLINICALLY COMPETENT. ASRT ALSO PARTNERS WITH AND PROVIDES GRANTS TO LIBRARIES ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO INCREASE AWARENESS OF RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGY AND THE CRITICAL ROLE OF MEDICAL IMAGING AND RADIATION THERAPY PROFESSIONALS.
