THE MISSION OF THE NEW MEXICO PRIMARY CARE ASSOCIATION IS TO PROMOTE THE ADVANCEMENT OF HIGH QUALITY PRIMARY HEALTH CARE SERVICES THAT ARE FINANCIALLY AND GEOGRAPHICALLY ACCESSIBLE, CULTURALLY COMPETENT AND RESPONSIVE, TO THE COMMUNITIES BEING SERVED.
PROVIDING INFORMATIONAL, EDUCATIONAL, TRAINING SERVICES, HEALTH INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE SERVICES TO 501(C)3 PRIMARY HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS.
MEDICAID ENROLLMENT AND OUTREACH:THE NMPCA RECEIVES A CONTRACT FROM THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO TO SUBCONTRACT WITH ITS MEMBERS AND OTHER COMMUNITYBASED NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS AND COUNTIES TO PROVIDE OUTREACH AND ENROLLMENT IN THE MEDICAID PROGRAM. THE NMPCA PROVIDES TRAINING AND SUPPORT TO THE SUBCONTRACTORS AND AGGREGATES AND SUBMITS DATA TO THE STATE. OVER 15,700 MEDICAID APPLICATIONS WERE SUBMITTED AS A RESULT OF THIS PROGRAM DURING THE PERIOD 7/1/19 - 6/30/20.
TRAINING, EDUCATION AND OTHER:NMPCA PROVIDES TRAINING, TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, AND SUPPORT SERVICES TO ITS MEMBERS IN THE AREAS OF ADMINISTRATION, GOVERNANCE, FINANCE, CLINICAL QUALITY IMPROVEMENT, DISEASE MANAGEMENT, AND RISK MANAGEMENT. NUMEROUS TRAININGS AND CONFERENCES ARE HELD UTILIZING FACE TO FACE AND INTERNET BASED DISTANCE LEARNING TOOLS TO ASSIST MEMBERS TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY AND EFFECTIVENESS OF CARE DELIVERY. TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE ARE ALSO DELIVERED THROUGH ONE-ON-ONE ONSITE ASSISTANCE. NMPCA ALSO SUPPORTS NUMEROUS COMMITTEES, WORKGROUPS, AND TASKFORCES, DEDICATED TO NETWORKING AND IMPROVING PERFORMANCE IN BILLING, MEDICAL, ORAL HEALTH, AND BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICE DELIVERY, HUMAN RESOURCES AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY.
HEALTH INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY:THE SHARED INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND HEALTH INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM PROVIDES HOSTING AND SUPPORT FOR 501(C)3 PRIMARY CARE MEMBERS WHO CHOOSE TO SHARE PLATFORMS AND HOSTING FACILITIES FOR THEIR PRACTICE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS AND ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORDS TO IMPROVE EFFICIENCY AND QUALITY OF CLINICAL SERVICES AND OPERATIONS. SIXTEEN ORGANIZATIONS WITH APPROXIMATELY 100 CLINICAL SITES ACROSS NEW MEXICO AND UTAH POOL EXPERTISE AND RESOURCES TO ACHIEVE THIS INTEGRATION WITH THE FUNDING ASSISTANCE OF A FEDERAL HEALTH CENTER CONTROLLED NETWORK GRANT. NMPCA ALSO PROVIDES IT SUPPORT TO SEVERAL OF ITS MEMBERS.
