Organizations Filed Purposes: PARTNERSHIP FOR COMMUNITY ACTION IS COMMITTED TO BUILDING STRONG HEALTHY COMMUNITYIES THROUGH RELATIONSHIP BUILDING, LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT AND CIVIC ENGAGEMENT.

PCA ACCOMPLISHMENTS FY 2017-2018 PARTNERSHIP FOR COMMUNITY ACTION (PCA) CONTINUES TO SUPPORT AND INVEST IN THE HUMAN CAPITAL OF UNDERSERVED AND UNDERREPRESENTED COMMUNITIES IN NEW MEXICO. FOR OVER A DECADE PCA HAS WORKED INTENTIONALLY TO INCREASE AWARENESS, LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES, AND TO GROW AN ORGANIZED MOVEMENT OF FAMILY LEADERS WITH YOUNG CHILDREN. WE ORGANIZE WITH FAMILIES THROUGH POPULAR EDUCATION STRATEGIES AND WITH A RACIAL EQUITY LENS TO CHANGE SYSTEMS FOR THE BENEFIT OF ALL NEW MEXICANS. -PCA ENGAGED WITH 70 FAMILIES FOR TWENTY CONSECUTIVES WEEKS IN SEVEN SITES IN THE SOUTH VALLEY THROUGH THE COMMUNITIES FOR EDUCATION AND ACTION MODEL. CEA IS A PARENT-LED, TWO-GENERATION LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE, DEVELOPED FOR AND BY FAMILIES IN THE SOUTH VALLEY. CEA LEADERS UTILIZE AND IMPLEMENT A SET OF EVIDENCE- BASED, LINGUISTICALLY APPROPRIATE AND CULTURALLY RESPONSIVE CURRICULA WITH AN EMPHASIS ON EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT & EDUCATION, LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, ECONOMIC EQUITY, AND SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL HEALTH. -PCA HAS CONTINUED TO SUPPORT COMMUNITIES IN VALENCIA COUNTY, THE TOWN OF BERNALILLO, AND THE CITY OF SANTA FE IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF PCA'S FAMILY LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT MODEL, COMMUNITIES FOR EDUCATION AND ACTION (CEA). -WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF DEVELOPING A SIMILAR PROJECT IN LAS CRUCES, NM. -ALONG WITH THE 70 FAMILIES WHO WERE TRAINED THROUGH THE CEA PROGRAM, CEA LEADERS - IN COLLABORATION WITH THE NM ASIAN FAMILY CENTER AND VALLEY COMMUNITY INTERPRETERS, DEVELOPED AND IMPLEMENTED LANGUAGE ACCESS RIGHTS TRAININGS FOR 220 MEMBERS OF THE SPANISH, VIETNAMESE, CHINESE AND FARSI- SPEAKING COMMUNITY. -CEA PARENT LEADERS CONDUCTED CIVIC ENGAGEMENT TRAININGS FOR FORTHCOMING NATURALIZED CITIZENS IN COLLABORATION WITH THE NM IMMIGRANT LAW CENTER. A TOTAL OF 260 COMMUNITY MEMBERS FROM ACROSS BERNALILLO COUNTY PARTICIPATED IN THESE TRAININGS. -PCA MOBILIZED A CROSS RACIAL, MULTI-GENERATIONAL COALITION OF MORE THAN 500 FAMILIES IN SUPPORT OF EXPANDING ACCESS TO EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION; ACCESS TO AN AFFORDABLE & JUST HEALTHCARE SYSTEM FOR ALL FAMILIES REGARDLESS OF IMMIGRATION STATUS; INCREASED OPPORTUNITIES FOR ECONOMIC EQUITY AND SECURITY FOR NEW MEXICAN FAMILIES; AND TO CREATE OPPORTUNITIES FOR INCREASED CIVIC ENGAGEMENT FOR LOW INCOME FAMILIES ACROSS NEW MEXICO. -PCA HAS ENGAGED DOZENS OF COMMUNITY MEMBERS IN DEEP CONVERSATIONS AND PLANNING / LEARNING SESSIONS AROUND THE DEVELOPMENT OF A SOCIAL ENTERPRISE CENTER IN THE SOUTH VALLEY. -PCA SECURED 2.5 MILLION IN GRANT AND LOAN COMMITMENTS TO CONSTRUCT THE SOCIAL ENTERPRISE CENTER IN THE SOUTH VALLEY, WHICH WILL BRING MORE THAN 50 LIVING-WAGE JOBS TO AN OTHERWISE IMPOVERISHED COMMUNITY. -PCA HAS CONTINUED TO ORGANIZE A NETWORK OF MORE THAN 250 CHILD-CARE PROVIDERS FROM SOUTH VALLEY THROUGH A GRASSROOTS, COLLABORATIVE NETWORK. THIS NETWORK HAS SUCCEEDED IN BUILDING MORE ACCESS AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR FAMILIES WHO NEED CHILD CARE FOR THEIR CHILDREN IN THEIR OWN NEIGHBORHOODS. -SUCCEESFULLY LAUNCHED A LOAN PROGRAM FOR LOW INCOME FAMILIES WITH POOR OR NO CREDIT THROUGH THE NUSENDA CREDIT UNION. THE LOAN PROGRAM IS DEISGNED TO BE VERY LOW INTEREST SO THAT FAMILIES CAN STEER AWAY FROM PREATORY LENDING PRODUCTS, CAN BUILD CREDIT, AND BUILD ASSETS.
