Organizations Filed Purposes:
The mission of the Embudo Valley Library and Community Center is to build community by providing educational, cultural, and recreational resources for area residents. The library provides public library service, literacy programming for children and youth, formal and informal public gathering space for meetings and resolana, and an evening cultural series. Our property is home to a volunteer community radio station, a public park, a farmer's market, and a cooperative grocery store.
It is the mission of the Embudo Valley Library to provide daily library service to the Embudo Valley and Penasco area.
Library Service: Open 6 days a week, we received 20,882 visits to the library and programs. We circulated 11,006 items. We hosted a total of 246 programs for children and teens. 29 cultural events were presented in the last year.
Afterschool Program: This program met four times a week after school for grades K-6. We continued a STEAM curriculum for this years program, offering half of 133 sessions focused on STEM topics. Professional artists taught 20 dedicated art sessions. We had 2,073 total visits to the program, with an average attendance of 16 students per session.
STEM Programs: Saturday sessions feature robotics and 3D printing. We sent a team of 5th and 6th graders to Robo-Rave in Albuquerque in May 2019. The program was held 26 times with 238 total visits.
