CREATIVE SANTA FE'S MISSION IS TO LEVERAGE SANTA FE'S UNIQUE SENSE OF PLACE, USING COLLABORATION AND THE POWER OF THE ARTS TO REFRAME CRITICAL ISSUES AND DRIVE POSITIVE CHANGE. CRSF'S MAIN SOURCES OF SUPPORT AND REVENUE ARE GRANTS, CONTRIBUTIONS, AND SPONSORSHIPS.
SILER YARD: ARTS + CREATIVITY CENTER (A+CC) - IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE CITY OF SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO INTER-FAITH HOUSING (NMIF), A+CC PROVIDES A 65-UNIT SOLARNET-ENERGY ZERO AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROJECT THAT PROVIDES AFFORDABLE HOUSING AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TO THE CITIZENS OF SANTA FE. BY INTEGRATING COMMUNITY RESOURCES SUCH ASSHARED WORK SPACES, MEETING ROOMS, EXHIBITION SPACES, AND PUBLIC OPEN SPACE, ALONG WITH EXTENSIVE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING, SILER YARD WILL SUPPORT CREATIVE INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES WITH LOW TO MODERATE INCOMES AND THE SURROUNDING NEIGHBORHOOD AND CREATE A NEW KIND OF INTERSECTIONAL SPACE THAT SERVES AS A VIBRANT HUB OF NEW MEXICO CREATIVE CULTURE AND FOSTERS THE CREATIVE ECONOMY.IN 2016 CRSF AND NMIF SECURED AN AGREEMENT ON A FIVE-ACRE LAND PARCEL TO BE DONATED BY THE CITY TO THE PROJECT AS WELL AS REZONING OF THE PARCEL TO ALLOW RESIDENTIAL USES. THIS WAS PRECEDED BY A CITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION SUPPORTING SITE DUE DILIGENCE THAT WAS PASSED IN MARCH 2015, THE DEFINITION OF A STUDY AREA OF SEVEN ACRES ON SILER ROAD IN AUGUST 2015, PRELIMINARY ENGINEERING AND ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS COMPLETED IN OCTOBER, AND A STUDY OF SITE DENSITY STARTED AT THE END OF THE YEAR. CRSF'S THREE-YEAR $150,000 MATCHING NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE ARTS OUR TOWN GRANT STARTED IN OCTOBER 2015, SUPPORTING OUTREACH AND DESIGN AND CONTINUED THROUGHOUT 2016, 2017 AND 2018 AND WAS CONCLUDED IN JUNE OF 2019.IN APRIL OF 2019, NMIF WAS ALLOCATED A $10.4M STATE LOW INCOME HOUSING TAX CREDIT SUBSIDY TO BUILD THIS PROJECT.
PUBLIC EDUCATION AND OUTREACH - CONTAINS AN ALLOCATION OF 30% OF ALL GENERAL EXPENSES AND ALL PUBLICATION, WEBSITE AND OTHER OUTREACH EXPENSES OTHER THAN REGULAR PROGRAM EXPENSES.IN 2020, OUR PROGRAMS DRAMATICALLY PIVOTED DUE TO THE IMPACT OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. WITHIN THE PAST MONTH, WE HAVE CREATED A NEW PROGRAM, PIVOT TO VIRTUAL THAT INCLUDES: #IMAGINATIONFOUND, VIRTUAL LEMONAID, FUTURE OF LEADERSHIP: A DISRUPTIVE FUTURES DIALOGUE, AND FUTURE OF ART: A DISRUPTIVE FUTURES DIALOGUE. PLEASE REFER TO THE ORGANIZATION'S AUDIT REPORT FOR DETAILS OF THE NEW PROGRAM ACTIVITIES LISTED ABOVE.
DISRUPTIVE FUTURES DIALOGUES (DFD) SERIES GENERATES VISIONARY NEW APPROACHES TO DRIVE POSITIVE CHANGE. CRSF IS DEDICATED TO PARTNERSHIPS, COMMUNITY-WIDE INCLUSION, AND LEVERAGING THE ARTS AS A PLATFORM TO REFRAME ISSUES IN BOLD NEW WAYS TO TACKLE SOME OF THE MOST PRESSING ISSUES FACING OUT CITY, COUNTRY, AND THE WORLD.THE GOAL OF THE DFD SERIES IS TO DRIVE POSITIVE CHANGE AND INCREASE THE HEALTH AND PROSPERITY OF OUR CITY AND STATE. TO THAT END, WE CREATE PROGRAMMING THAT IS DEEPLY COLLABORATIVE WITH MULTIPLE ORGANIZATIONS ACROSS OUR CITY AND STATE TO HEIGHTEN AWARENESS OF CRITICAL LOCAL ISSUES SUCH AS: AFFORDABLE HOUSING, JUVENILE JUSTICE, SUSTAINABLE TECHNOLOGIES, THE FUTURE OF THE ARTS, AND MORE. DFD PROGRAMS LEVERAGE THE POWER OF THE ARTS TO REFRAME THESE TOPICS TO BUILD BETTER ACCESS, COMMUNICATION, AND TRUST. THE ARTS ARE ALSO LEVERAGED TO ACTIVATE THE UNIQUE CAPACITY OF IMAGINATION TO HELP OUR COMMUNITY DESIGN SOLUTIONS FOR THE FUTURE THEY MIGHT NOT OTHERWISE ENVISION. DFD PROGRAMMING IS ACCESSED THROUGH A SYSTEMATIC AND UNIQUELY INCLUSIVE APPROACH BY A WIDE DIVERSITY OF VOICES. OUR APPROACH TO COMMUNITY BUILDING THROUGH COLLABORATION AND THE ARTS EMPOWERS AUDIENCES TO ENGAGE IN ISSUES THAT AFFECT THEM BOTH TODAY AND INTO THE FUTURE. IT ALSO PROVIDES THEM THE TOOLS AND RESOURCES TO HAVE A VOICE AND TO MAKE A SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE. 2019 EVENTS INCLUDED: THE FUTURE OF ART, CLI-FI: ALTERED FUTURES THROUGH FILM AND LITERATURE, HOUSING THE FUTURE 2.0 AND CREATIVE MINGLE. EVERY EVENT INCLUDED A SOLD-OUT AUDIENCE, AND THE DESIGNATED OUTREACH PROGRAM CONTINUED TO INCREASE THE IMPACT OF THE PROGRAMS IN THE SANTA FE COMMUNITY.
