HISTORICALLY, A CONNECTION BETWEEN PROTECTING BIODIVERSITY, CONSERVING TERRESTRIAL LANDSCAPES AS CARBON SINKS AND THE RIGHTS OF THE INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES TO A SUSTAINABLE AND HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT HAS NOT BEEN ADEQUATELY CONSIDERED.
