THE MISSION OF THE NEW MEXICO COALITION FOR LITERACY IS TO COORDINATE, EXPAND, AND ENHANCE NEW MEXICO PROGRAMS SO ADULTS CAN READ AND WRITE TO ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS.
Operating Assistance to 14 programs in 13 counties that served 1,273 adult students who received 45,047 one-to-one and group instructional hours with the help of 567 volunteer tutors who contributed 93,111 hours of their time in preparation and instruction. One hundred seventy-three individuals received pre-service tutor training, board training, in-service training, professional development, and outreach assistance for recruitment and to raise awareness. Thirty eight individuals were recruited and referred through the NMCLs PR campaign and toll-free adult literacy hotline.
