TRANSFORMING THE LIVES OF ORPHANED & IMPOVERISHED CHILDREN
Medical Care Program - Our commitment to helping children find healing has never wavered. In 2019, our work included emergency care for orphaned babies, surgeries for children who otherwise would go without, and two international medical exchanges. We provided 1155 medical procedures, including 632 cleft operations and 56 life-saving heart surgeries.
Healing Homes Program- LWB's healing homes serve children who are often found completely on their own. Most are malnourished, sick, or in need of urgent medical attention. In 2019, LWB's homes in China and Uganda once again transformed the lives of vulnerable children. We also began a partnership in India to care for orphaned children with HIV. 110 children received full-time care in our homes.
Education Program - LWB equips children for a brighter future through our many education projects. Our Believe in Me schools in rural Cambodia are now nationally recognized, and our China and Uganda tuition support programs help orphaned and impoverished children access quality education. In 2019, 722 students were enrolled in this essential program.
