Organizations Filed Purposes:
YWCA Enid is a non-profit organization that has three main areas of focus: 1) The Crisis Center provides support services emphasizing areas of domestic violence and sexual assault for women and their children in crisis. Some of the services or programs offered are a 24 hour shelter and crisis hotline, court advocacy, adult and child counseling, advocacy and community education & prevention. 2) The YWCA youth programs include Girlpower and Racial Justice Program.3.) The SANE Room provides free forensic exams and medication to victims of rape and sexual assault.
Crisis Center - 117 women and children received emergency shelter, for a total of 3,095 nights of shelter; 77 individuals received counseling services;117 individuals received advocacy services; 122 individuals were given legal assistance and assisted with filing protective orders at the courthouse; and 33 community education presentations and/or trainings were presented to 1546 community members. The average stay for clients in the shelter was 50 days. 0% of the clients had a job upon entering the shelter; 22% percent had a job upon leaving; 23% of the clients staying at the shelter increased their income from admission to discharge (becoming employed, receiving food stamps and TANF); 100% utilized community resources while staying at the shelter; 64% had an improvement in their condition from admission to discharge; and 100% of the clients received advocacy services.
Youth ProgramsGirl Power - 38 girls in 5th - 9th grades were empowered at our annual Girl Power summit. They discussed current social issues such as bullying,self-confidence, beauty, and social media. Project Cinderella - 118 individuals were provided prom dresses and accessories through Project Cinderella.
SANE program - 37 forensic exams were performed by a trained nurse in a safe, comfortable, non-clinical environment.
