Organizations Filed Purposes:
Foster a love for local history. To revere the memory of those pioneers who blazed the way for present civilization and progress; To promote historic preservation in the community and revitalization of surronding neighborhoods; and to provide a public facility for civic and social activities.
The Organization provided guided tours to include the history of the Mattie Beal home and Lawton, Oklahoma. These tours served hundreds of people. The Organization also reached countless numbers of people by hosting events on the premises, including Mattie Beal Portrayals, Living History Project and a Grade School History Project. The various events educated the participants on the history and heritage of Mattie Beal and the City of Lawton. In addition, the Association continued ongoing maintenance and preservation of the Historical Mattie Beal Home.
