Organizations Filed Purposes:
J127 Ministry is a Christian-based organization to aid young people who have aged out of the foster care system, are orphaned or homeless due to lack of family. This ministry is currently building a home and a training center to house and educate these young people in five core areas as they transition into adulthood.
Girls' Home Building Project: J127 broke ground on a 5200 sq. ft. home which will be a transitional living space for 10 young ladies and a house parent. We have established a five-point program that J will complete while living in the home in the areas of life-skills, spirituality, mentoring, education and service. Most expenses from this project are attributed to C-I-P Asset, but there were utility costs associated with the building this year that are reflected below.
Outreach & Education: J127 expanded it's outreach and influence in the community this year through 3 community meetings. These meetings gave information to interested pastors, business leaders, and citizens about the Oklahoma Foster Care system and statistics for youth exiting this system. We believe educating our community will bring unity and support of our mission. We also partnered with Under His Wings Ministry to remodel a former church building into a modern training center that will be used to train J, host community meetings, and provide office space for J127. Most costs of this remodel are reflected in our assets. Expenses here reflect utilities and supplies for the training center.
Individual Assistance: Although J127 is not accepting youth into our program until the Girls' Home is move-in ready, we did serve two young ladies who fit our mission during 2018. J127 provided rent, utilities and supplies for these young ladies who were homeless and without resources as they transitioned out of foster care.
