Organizations Filed Purposes: To promote the self-sufficiency of the socially, economically, and culturally disadvantaged citizens of Oklahoma and Canadian counties and to eliminate the paradox of poverty among these citizens by opening to everyone the opportunity to work; to live in decency, dignity, and worth; and to secure the opportunities needed to become fully self-sufficient.

"Important Community Partner" - promoting self-sufficiency and eliminating poverty in Oklahoma and Canadian Counties.

Head Start & Daycare - Provides full and part-time day care and preschool services with emphasis on the areas of child development, health/safety, nutrition, mental health, disabilities, family partnerships, parent involvement and literacy.1,718 children were served in the Head Start program in 98 classrooms. 109 children were served in Early Head Start. 162 children were provided childcare.

Housing & Weatherization - Home Repair & Weatherization provides emergency home repair and energy conservation through education activities and repair services. Homebuyer Assistance provides down payment and closing cost assistance to income eligible individuals and families. Housing Counseling provided to help clients understand the responsibilities of home ownership and how to make housing and financial choices. Home Acquisition/Rehabilitation increases the availability of affordable quality homes to income eligible individuals and families. Green Home Loan program improves eligible individuals homes efficiency and reduces energy consumption. 78 households were weatherized. 28 households were provided down payment and closing cost assistance. 216 individuals completed Home Buyers workshop. To date the green home loan program has funded projects totaling 942,700.

Community Services - Provides services to senior citizens, the homeless populace, and neighborhood needs to promote the self-sufficiency of individuals and our communities. Community Services programs include: Christmas Assistance, Graffiti Removal, RX for Oklahoma, Individual Development Accounts, Volunteer Income Tax Preparation and Neighborhood Activities.Christmas Assistance is provided to over 700 families each year. 28 individuals opened an Individual Development Account. 1,466 households received free tax return preparation assistance.
