THE VISION FOR THE OKLAHOMA BEEF COUNCIL IS TO BE A POSITVE DIFFERENCE FOR OKLAHOMA'S FARMING AND RANCHING FAMILIES AND THE GREATER BEEF COMMUNITY. THE MISSION OF THE OKLAHOMA BEEF COUNCIL IS TO ENHANCE BEEF DEMAND BY STRENGTHENING CONSUMER TRUST AND EXCEEDING CONSUMER EXPECTATIONS.

AS A QUALIFIED STATE BEEF COUNCIL, THE OBC COLLECTS ASSESSMENTS OF WHICH FUNDS ARE PASSED THROUGH TO THE STATE OF ORIGIN AND FIFTY CENTS IS REMITTED TO THE CATTLEMEN'S BEEF BOARD FOR CONDUCTING NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL CHECKOFF PROGRAMS.

OKLAHOMA PROGRAMS ARE DESIGNED TO ENCHANCE BEEF'S IMAGE, WHILE ADVANCING THE DESIRABILITY OF BEEF AND BEEF PRODUCTS. KEY EFFORTS IN FY 2019 INCLUDED THE FOLLOWING: 1. THE OBC KICKED-OFF A PARTNERSHIP WITH OKC PROFESSIONAL BASKETBALL PLAYER, STEVEN ADAMS. THE CAMPAIGN ACHIEVED MORE THAN 700,000 VIDEO VIEWS IN FOUR DAYS AND THROUGH EARNED MEDIA, ACHIEVED MORE THAN 20 MILLION IMPRESSIONS. 2. THE OBC LAUNCHED A SERIES OF VIDEOS IN 2019 SHOWCASING OKLAHOMA FARMING AND RANCHING FAMILIES AND THEIR COMMITMENT TO FAMILY AND RAISING HIGH-QUALITY BEEF IN A SUSTAINABLE MANNER. THE VIDEOS GENERATED HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF VIEWS ONLINE. 3. THE OBC CO-HOSTED WITH THE KANSAS, MISSOURI AND NEBRASKA BEEF COUNCILS A GROUP OF 25 REGISTERED DIETICIANS FROM ACROSS THE COUNTRY FOR A CHECKOFF-FUNDED EVENT EMPHASIZING BEEF'S NUTRITIONAL PROFILE, CULINARY VERSATILITY, AND PRODUCTION METHODS. THOSE ATTENDING NUTRITION ADVENTURE IN THE KANSAS CITY AREA IN LATE MAY WERE SELECTED FOR THEIR EXTENSIVE INVOLVEMENT ON SOCIAL MEDIA AND BLOGS, GIVING THEM THE ABILITY TO INFLUENCE THOUSANDS OF CONSUMERS. 4. OBC CONDUCTED FOUR SEMINARS WITH UNIVERSITY NUTRITION PROGRAMS FOR FUTURE DIETICIANS. THE OBJECTIVE OF THESE PROGRAMS WAS TO PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR FUTURE DIETICIANS TO LEARN MORE ABOUT BEEF NUTRITION, HOT TOPICS, CULINARY SKILLS, SUSTAINABILITY AND CATTLE PRODUCTION.

DOMESTIC PROGRAMS INCLUDING HIGH POPULATION/LOW CATTLE - THE OBC INVESTS IN NATIONAL PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO DRIVE AND ENHANCE DEMAND FOR BEEF. AS AN EXAMPLE, THROUGH DIGITAL MARKETING CAMPAIGNS, THE OBC ACHIEVED MORE THAN 19 MILLION VIDEO VIEWS IN KEY POPULATION CENTERS IN THE US. INTERNATIONALLY, THE OBC SPONSORED FOODSERVICE AND RETAIL US BEEF PROMOTIONS IN JAPAN AND SOUTH KOREA IN 2019. OKLAHOMA BEEF CHECKOFF DOLLARS HELPED MOVE MORE THAN 6 MILLION POUNDS OF US BEEF AS A RESULT OF THESE EFFORTS. ADDITIONALLY, THE OBC SUPPORTED BEEF EDUCATION EFFORTS THROUGH SEMINARS IN ANGOLA AND CHINA.
