Organizations Filed Purposes: RESTOREOKC SERVES AS A CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT MINISTRY PROVIDING THE PEOPLE OF GOD WITH OPPORTUNITIES TO MANIFEST HIS LOVE IN OKLAHOMA CITY BY: SEEKING JUSTICE ON BEHALF OF THE POOR, OPPRESSED, WIDOW AND FATHERLESS AS GOD'S PEOPLE--THE CHURCH; FREELY EXPRESSING HIS MERCY BY SHARING OUR LIVES AND RESOURCES TO SEEK RESTORATION ALONGSIDE OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN SOME OF OKC'S POOREST NEIGHBORHOODS; HUMBLY ACKNOWLEDGING THE COMPLEXITIES OF INJUSTICE, THE ROLES WE PLAY IN IT, AND ITS SYSTEMATIC EFFECT SO THAT WE CAN BUILD RELATIONSHIPS OF TRUE RECONCILIATION.

RESTORE FARMS: RESTORE FARMS IS AN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ARM OF RESTOREOKC, INC. AND PARTNERSHIP OF LANGSTON UNIVERSITY TO WORK ALONGSIDE URBAN YOUTH TO CREATE JOBS AND MENTORING OPPORTUNITIES THAT LEVERAGE THE RESOURCES OF THE COMMUNITY AND THE MEMBERS TO BLESS, SERVE AND CREATE MORE OPPORTUNITY FOR THE COMMUNITY. IN 2019, WE WERE ABLE TO EMPLOY 15 STUDENTS (7TH-12TH GRADE) TO WORK THROUGH THE SUMMER AND AFTER-SCHOOL PROVIDING INCOME FOR THEIR FAMILIES, ENDING THE FOOD DESERT COMMUNITY, AND SECURING A PATH TO FULL-SCHOLARSHIP FOR HIGHER-EDUCATION THROUGH LANGSTON UNIVERSITY. WE DO THIS IN THREE PHASES: 1.CLASSROOM GARDENS: BEGINNING AT THE ELEMENTARY LEVEL TEACHING PRE-K THROUGH 6TH GRADE STUDENTS THE BASIC FUNDAMENTALS OF GROWING AND DEVELOP AN EARLY RELATIONSHIP WITH STUDENTS AROUND MAINTAINING THEIR CLASSROOM GARDEN BED DONATED BY RESTOREOKC DIRECTLY TO THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS IN PARTNERSHIP. 2.COMMUNITY GARDENS: WE MAINTAIN A COMMUNITY GARDEN ON OUR PHYSICAL PROPERTY THAT WE STEWARD AND WORK IN PARTNERSHIP WITH KEY COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS. THE PRODUCE FROM OUR "EDIBLE ACRE" IS ALL SHARED WITH THE COMMUNITY FOR FEE. 3.EMPLOYING STUDENTS AT THE GREENHOUSE/FARM: MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ARE EMPLOYED AT THE FARM WHERE THEY GAIN ENTREPRENEURIAL SKILLS WHILE EARNING INCOME FOR THEMSELVES AND THEIR FAMILIES. YOUTH EMPLOYEES GET PAID A LIVING-WAGE SALARY TO WORK AFTER-SCHOOL AND DURING THE SUMMER MAINTAINING THE GARDENS AND DELIVERING PRODUCE TO THOSE IN NEED WITHIN THE COMMUNITY AND SELLING OFF THE REMAINDER FOR "PROFIT" FOR THE FARM. GRADUATES OF OUR PROGRAM WILL HAVE OPPORTUNITIES THROUGH LANGSTON UNIVERSITY TO GO ONTO SCHOLARSHIP FOR HIGH-EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES IN RELATED FIELDS. IN 2019, 1.MORE THAN 1000 STUDENTS WERE SERVED BY THE CLASSROOM GARDEN BEDS THAT WERE BUILT FOR EVERY CLASSROOM AT OUR PARTNER ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS. 2.MORE THAN 600 VOLUNTEER HOURS SERVED IN THE COMMUNITY AND SCHOOL GARDENS INCLUDING PARTNERSHIPS FROM ODYSSEY LEADERSHIP ACADEMY WHO LED 120 3RD-5TH GRADE STUDENTS IN GARDENING & SCIENCE EXPLORATION WEEKLY AT MARTIN LUTHER KING ELEMENTARY. 3.ESTABLISHED NEW KEY PARTNERSHIPS WITH: OSU MASTER GARDENERS, KETO FOUNDATION, MINICK MATERIALS, NOBLE FOUNDATION, CHANNEL 9, OKLAHOMA STATE AG-EXTENSION, SEED TO SPOON, ETC. 4.GREW AND GAVE AWAY MORE THAN 1,000 POUNDS OF VEGGIES WORTH THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS THAT WERE GROWN IN THE COMMUNITY, BY THE COMMUNITY, FOR THE COMMUNITY

RESTORE HOMES: RESTORE HOMES IS AN ARM OF RESTOREOKC, THAT MAKES BASIC HOME REPAIRS FOR WIDOWS AND SENIORS IN THE 73111 NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA CITY COMMUNITY. AS AN ORGANIZATION WE DON'T TAKE STATE OR FEDERAL FUNDS WHICH ALLOWS US TO MEET THE BASIC HOME REPAIR NEEDS OF OUR SENIORS WHO ARE LONG-TERM HOMEOWNERS OR RESIDENTS WHOSE SITUATIONS MAKE THEM INELIGIBLE FOR OTHER SERVICES AND FALL IN THE "SERVICE GAP." MANY OF THE SENIORS & WIDOWS IN NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA CITY ARE LOW-INCOME AFRICAN-AMERICAN HOMEOWNERS WHO ARE AT HIGH-RISK OF NOT BEING ABLE TO STAY IN THEIR HOME. ADDITIONALLY, SOME HAVE REMAINED IN THEIR HOME WELL PAST THE POINT THAT IT IS SAFE AND HAVE DEVELOPED LUNG OR HEALTH CONDITIONS DUE TO MOLD EXPOSURE FROM SIGNIFICANT WATER DAMAGE OVER DECADES. LYNN INSTITUTE'S LIFESTYLE SUMMARY SHOWED 85% OF OUR COMMUNITY TO BE AFRICAN-AMERICAN, MORE THAN 40% "EXTREMELY LOW INCOME- AND OVER 20% OF THOSE ARE 65+. LYNN INSTITUTE'S "YEARS OF POTENTIAL LIFE LOST (YPLL)" MEASUREMENT OF COMMUNITY HEALTH SHOWED THAT SENIOR RESIDENTS IN NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA CITY AREA DIE AT SIGNIFICANTLY YOUNGER AGES THAN THE WIDER CITY DUE TO PREVENTABLE CAUSES. OUR ZIP CODE HAS A HIGH PERCENTAGE OF HOMEOWNERS WHO EITHER STILL ARE THE ORIGINAL HOMEOWNER OR 2ND GENERATION HOMEOWNERS WHICH IS ROOTED IN A HISTORY OF REDLINING, UNFAIR LENDING, OR IMMINENT DOMAIN THAT MAKES HOME OWNERSHIP A HUGE DEAL IN THE BLACK COMMUNITY AND MAKES TRUST OF STATE OR FEDERAL AGENCIES DIFFICULT AT BEST. OUR GOAL IS TO UTILIZE OUR PARTNERSHIPS WITH OTHER SERVICE-PROVIDERS & THE CITY OF OKLAHOMA CITY TO MAKE SURE NONE OF OUR SENIORS HAVE AN UNMET NEED THAT COULD BE MET THROUGH THE GENEROSITY OF NEIGHBORS & HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO GATHER WITH COMMUNITY AND SHARE THEIR WISDOM. ONCE WORKDAY REPAIRS ARE FINISHED, WE WALK WITH SENIORS IN "COMMUNITY" THROUGH RESTOREOKC'S OTHER ARMS, EXTENDING OPPORTUNITIES TO GATHER WITH COMMUNITY YOUTH TO GARDEN OR ATTEND WEEKLY DANCE CLASSES FOR 65+ AT OUR OFFICES TAUGHT BY METROTECH. WHEN NEEDED, WE CONNECT SENIORS TO OUR PARTNER, VALIR PACE, FOR HEALTH NEEDS THAT WOULD ALLOW THEM TO AGE SAFELY IN THEIR HOME.

RESTORE JOBS: WELLSPRING CLEANING COMPANY GREW OUT OF RELATIONSHIPS BUILT OVER MANY MONTHS OF LIVING IN, LOVING AND SERVING THE NE OKC COMMUNITY. AS WE DEVELOPED FRIENDSHIPS, WHAT WE HEARD AND SAW WERE THE IMPOSSIBLE CIRCUMSTANCES THAT AFFECT A HUGE PART OF OUR COMMUNITY. WITH AN EXTREMELY HIGH PERCENTAGE OF SINGLE-PARENT HOUSEHOLDS, MEDIAN INCOMES OF UNDER 15,000 AND FEW ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES, THE ODDS FOR WOMEN AND THEIR CHILDREN TO BREAK THE CYCLE OF POVERTY SEEMED SLIM AT BEST. AS WE PRAYED AND MET TOGETHER WITH WOMEN AND PARENTS FROM OUR COMMUNITY, THE LORD BEGAN A VISION FOR A JOB-TRAINING MINISTRY ARM THAT WOULD ALLOW US TO WALK ALONGSIDE WOMEN WHOSE LIFE FACTORS MADE LIVING-WAGE EMPLOYMENT DIFFICULT. WE WANTED TO SEE WOMEN SET FREE TO BE THE MOTHERS THAT THEY LONGED TO BE THROUGH SALARIED-INCOME EMPLOYMENT THAT ALLOWED THEM TO BE WITH THEIR CHILDREN ON THE EVENINGS AND WEEKENDS, BEGIN TO DREAM IN COMMUNITY ABOUT THEIR FUTURE, AND LEARN VALUABLE LIFE SKILLS. IN PARTNERSHIP WITH RE-MERGE & HOPE HOUSE WE ARE ABLE TO SERVE SINGLE-MOTHERS WITH AN OPPORTUNITY FOR EMPLOYMENT, COMMUNITY SUPPORT, AND A PATH TO SELF-SUFFICIENCY. 1.12 ADULTS/PARENTS FROM THE COMMUNITY WERE ABLE TO HAVE STABLE, LIVING- WAGE EMPLOYMENT THROUGH OUR MEN'S AND WOMEN'S JOB-TRAINING AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ARMS. 2.5 OF THOSE 9 WENT ON TO COMPLETE AND GRADUATE FROM WORKLIFE A 20-WEEK BIBLICALLY-BASED JOB-TRAINING CURRICULUM WHERE THEY SET AGGRESSIVE GOALS WITH ALLY-SUPPORT AND ACCOUNTABILITY. 3.3 OF THOSE WERE ABLE TO CONSOLIDATE HIGH-INTEREST DEBT AND PAY IT OFF SO THAT THEY LEAVE OUR PROGRAM "DEBT-FREE- AND CLOSER TO THEIR LIFE GOALS.
