Organizations Filed Purposes:
To help find a cure for leiomyosarcoma by creating a relationship with researchers and fund projects that can lead to effective treatments. The second mission is to help keep patients healthy, by creating overall awareness and providing access to the latest studies.
As part of LMSdrs mission to generate awareness regarding the latest research and treatments of leiomyosarcoma, we have created a monthly newsletter and an online support group that has over 2,500 members.
LMSdr hosts an annual educational conference for patients, professionals and caregivers where information is provided on the latest research and treatments available.
Grants awarded to fund research of treatments for Leiomyosarcoma. LMSDR awarded a grant to Gregory Cote MD, PhD at Massachusetts General Hospital for his project, ART Inhibition in ALT Positive Leiomyosarcoma and Osteosarcoma. Funded by the Lissy McMahon Memorial fund.
