Organizations Filed Purposes: Tulsa Girls Art School's mission: Through art, Tulsa girls overcome barriers and discover life-changing purpose, power and possibility!The Art School began in 2007 with the original purpose of providing an after-school program in a safe, encouraging and instructive environment for underprivileged girls to develop their artistic ability and to eventually teach them the basics of business and money. The organization has evolved and grown, and although the original purpose remains and art is still the medium, the program has expanded to serve the whole girl as expressed by its mission statement. Some students may become successful artists and some will prosper in other areas as the program teaches critical thinking, artistic and social skills, discipline and financial management to help them succeed in life.The school welcomes girls from third grade through twelfth grade, allowing some students to have nearly ten years of programming and consistent support. Tulsa Girls Art School's mission: Through art, Tulsa girls overcome barriers and discover life-changing purpose, power and possibility!

Tulsa Girls Art School provided art and life skills training to about 60 students this year, serving 2,100 lunches and over 14,000 healthy snacks, and providing over 7,200 rides.In addition to traditional art training, the students were able to visit Tulsa museums and art galleries, and traveled to Crystal Bridges in Bentonville, Arkansas.The girls also benefited form instruction from several local and visiting artists.
