Organizations Filed Purposes:
To promote, advance, create awareness and advocate for the health, social, educational, and character development of youth in low income communities. Clubs are located witin public housing developments or needing communities.
Other Programs - The Organization provides other services funded through private foundations, local government grants and federal campaigns. Services provided includes drug prevention and family support programs as well as metoring through science and other subjects
Project Learn is a comprehensive program covering educational, prevention, sports, recreational and art services. It impacted approximately 1,320 bonafide residents from different housing projects within ages 6 to 18; and 711 adults through its family support program. Activities supported included: 699 participants in the after school tutorship and homework assistance; 509 participants in the visual arts program; 112 participants in the leadership program; and 711 residents received family suport services on a monthly basis. These programs are carried out through different systems including Power Hour, Torch Club, Keystone Club, Goals for Graduation, Visual Arts, Dance, Theater, and Sports and Recreation. For fiscal year 2019-2020, 100% of programatic objectives presented to PRPHA were achieved.
TANF program is addressed to prevention services through SMART Modes module. Main objectives are to promote auto-sufficiency and promote strengh of family relationships. The program is also directed to promote employment and to promote economic development. Approximately 600 participants were impacted by the program. More than 182 hours were devoted to assist participants in job searching activities. More than 293 hours were invested in activities directed to the strengh of social skills.
