From a gender and human rights perspective, IMPR also conducts research and publishes articles and documents regarding social and legal problems that affect the Puerto Rican society, particularly it's differentiated impact on women's lives.
IMPR successfully provided support as fiscal agent for two organizations that have worked with the issues of feminicides (murders of women because of their sex) and educational dissemination and training sessions to young people regarding gender violence. IMPR has also been requested to present several memoranda to the Puerto Rico Legislature regarding issues of feminicides, gender conversion therapy and the betterment of the structure of the Women's Advocate Office. IMPR continues to participate in conferences and workshops regarding women's rights, locally and abroad
IMPR main achievements in 2020 were several and in different areas. IMPR conducted two research studies during the early stages of the pandemic COVID-19: a research on how the pandemic and the governmental lockdown affected the Puerto Rican society, and a needs assessment of several communities and the non-governmental organizations that provide services during the pandemic Covid-19.
