Anderson University (University) is a comprehensive university affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention offering bachelors, masters, and doctorate degrees. Located on approximately 273 acres in the upstate region of South Carolina near the foothills of the Appalachians, the University features a rigorous education in a supportive Christian atmosphere.The University offers 48 baccalaureate majors with 41 minors. The University also offers twelve master degrees in the fields of business, Christian studies, criminal justice, education, music education, nursing and three doctoral programs: Doctor of Ministry, Doctor of Nursing Practice and Doctor of Physical Therapy. HIGHLIGHTS OF THE 2019-2020 FISCAL YEARNew transfer agreementsThe University moved forward in providing new opportunities for community and technical college graduates, signing new transfer agreements with Greenville Technical College, Spartanburg Community College, and Tri-County Technical College. These bridge programs to more easily transfer and complete their studies at the University.Trojan Football program being launchedThe University intends to add football as its next intercollegiate athletic program, announcing in October athletic officials secured a $3 million challenge gift to raise an additional $3 million needed to field a team. The University expects to begin competitive play in the South Atlantic Conference in 2024.Spurgeon's College partnershipThe University has entered into a partnership with London's Spurgeon's College, the largest Baptist college in the United Kingdom, to support short-term study trips, student and faculty exchange programs, and other joint projects. It is Spurgeon's first, and to date only, such agreement with an American university.Center for Cybersecurity launchedThe University launched the Center for Cybersecurity, which will begin offering four new bachelor of science degrees in the fall of 2020. In addition to a traditional cybersecurity major, the center is leading the way in cybersecurity programs by offering three interdisciplinary majors: Cybersecurity and Criminal Justice; Cybersecurity and Mathematics; and Cybersecurity and Analytics. The cybersecurity programs will also include a minor and non-degreed professional certificate.The Family Enterprise Institute of South CarolinaProviding opportunities to help family-owned businesses grow and thrive is the goal of the recently launched Family Enterprise Institute of South Carolina (FEISC), an initiative that will include educational, networking, research and support programs for owners and employees.Recent accoladesThe University is among the fastest growing private universities in the country, according to the U.S. Department of Education and the Chronicle of Higher Education Almanac. The University also has a reputation as a premier institution of higher learning and status among the best regional universities in the South as recognized by both U.S. News & World Report and The Princeton Review.
