THE SC PHYSICIANS CARE CHARITY (SCPCC) FOCUSED THE BULK OF ITS 2020 SUPPORT ON RESPONDING TO THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC. DURING 2020 THE CHARITY PROVIDED RESOURCES IN FIVE MAIN CATEGORIES: CHILDREN'S WELFARE, PANDEMIC RESPONSE, HEALTH CLINIC SUPPORT, HEALTH EDUCATION, AND HUMAN SERVICES SUPPORT. EACH GRANT CONTRIBUTED TO THE HEALTH AND WELLNESS OF THE PEOPLE SERVED BY EACH ORGANIZATION THAT RECEIVED FUNDING.UNDER THE AREA OF CHILDREN'S WELFARE, THE FOLLOWING GRANTS ($7,892) WERE MADE: THE JUVENILE DIABETES RESEARCH FUND RECEIVED A GRANT ($7,892) TO CONTINUE ITS WORK TO ASSIST CHILDREN WHO SUFFER FROM DIABETES. PANDEMIC RESPONSE RECEIVED THE BULK OF THE FUNDING THIS YEAR WITH ($191,700) IN GRANTS MADE. THE FOLLOWING ORGANIZATIONS RECEIVED GRANTS: INITIAL FUNDING WAS MADE TO CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS THROUGH THE CENTRAL CAROLINA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION ONE SC FUND ($50,000). DIRECT FUNDING WAS MADE TO SC ADVOCATES FOR AGRICULTURE, FARMERS TO FOOD BANKS PROGRAM ($75,000), HARVEST HOPE FOOD BANK ($10,000), ANDERSON FREE CLINIC ($15,000), COLUMBIA FREE MEDICAL CLINIC ($10,000), GOOD NEIGHBOR MEDICAL CLINIC OF BEAUFORT ($15,000), MERCY MEDICINE FREE CLINIC OF FLORENCE ($6,700), AND ST. LUKE'S FREE CLINIC OF SPARTANBURG ($10,000).IN THE AREA OF REGULAR HEALTH CLINIC SUPPORT THE FOLLOWING GRANT ($25,000) WAS MADE: THE DARLINGTON FREE MEDICAL CLINIC ($25,000) FOR OPERATIONAL EXPENSES.IN THE AREA OF HEALTH EDUCATION, THE FOLLOWING GRANTS ($75,000) WERE MADE: THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA PALMETTO ON-LINE COLLEGE, SCHOOL OF NURSING RECEIVED A GRANT ($50,000) TO FUND EQUIPMENT AND PROVIDE TRAINING FOR A SIMULATION LAB. YORK TECHNICAL COLLEGE RECEIVED A GRANT ($25,000) TO FUND A SCHOLARSHIP FOR ITS NURSING PROGRAM.ORGANIZATIONS FALLING UNDER THE DESCRIPTION OF HUMAN SERVICES RECEIVED THE FOLLOWING GRANTS ($86,050): THE SC ALZHEIMER'S ASSOCIATION RECEIVED A GRANT OF ($35,000) THIS YEAR. THE MIDLANDS FATHERHOOD COALITION RECEIVED A GRANT OF ($1,050) TO ESTABLISH A FUND TO ASSIST WITH MEDICAL EXPENSES FOR FATHERS WHO CANNOT AFFORD MEDICAL CARE AND NEED MEDICAL SERVICES. THE SC RESPITE COALITION RECEIVED A GRANT OF ($50,000) TO PROVIDE UNPAID CARE GIVERS VOUCHERS TO HELP PAY FOR TEMPORARY SPECIALIZED CARE GIVEN TO ILL FAMILY MEMBERS.
