SCIAC provided training in the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) for three members in order to continue the services to our member tribes and train tribal leaders to manage the issue for their tribes as the situations require. We organized and are building a Woman's Allegiance for the state's Native American Indian Ladies. There ladies will work on various issues inside of the state each requiring a different approach and different solutions. We joined efforts with the state's River Keepers in an effort to help ensure that the state's rivers are maintained and monitored for environmental and historic reasons. We began and are continuing to build a system of counseling for the Native American prisoners in South Carolina and we are beginning to expand this service into federal prisons located inside the state. SCIAC is currently organizing a veterans branch to help the country and state veterans in whatever needs we can accomidate.
