Step-In Girls Empowerment ProgramAfter-school ProgramStep-In provides a secure place for girls in the 3rd-5th grade to grow in their academics and social emotional skills while providing one-on-one mental health support and counseling. The program consists of research based curriculum with enhancements including field trips, guest speakers, real world experiences, and mental health counselors. In addition, girls participate in community service projects in their community as well as lead them at their school.

Culture and Climate Initiatives School climate is the feel of the school, behaviors and points of view exhibited and felt by students, teachers and families. School culture is the way in which things are done within the school. Our initiatives take place during and after school and are centered on four pillars: mental health, family engagement, teacher and student empowerment, and racial equity. Examples of initiatives include sending 40 teachers to the Racial Equity Institute, providing mental health counselors for students, collecting and distributing school and classroom supplies to students and teachers, and hosting PTA nights. On average, our initiatives serve over 800 students, teachers and families a year.

Classroom Mentor ProgramIn-school academic program Our Classroom Mentor Program provides academic support to students who have fallen behind grade level in mathematics to catch them up to state level standards and close the achievement gap. We work directly with classroom teachers to assess students individual academic needs and provide targeted math instruction and support. Our program served between 75-100 students weekly through individual and group mentoring with nearly 50 volunteers (Classroom Mentors) annually.
