NEGLECTED PEOPLE: NEGLECTED DISEASES: MORE THAN ONE BILLION MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN ARE AFFECTED BY NEGLECTED TROPICAL DISEASES (NTDS), INCLUDING LEPROSY, BURULI ULCER, YAWS, LYMPHATIC FILARIASIS, LEISHMANIASIS, AND TRACHOMA. THESE DISEASES AFFECT THE POOREST AND MOST NEGLECTED PEOPLE AND CAN LEAD TO: PROFOUND PAIN AND SUFFERING , MALNUTRITION , LIFELONG DISABILITIES, INCREASED POVERTY AND STIGMA AND ISOLATION..RESTORING HOPE AND DIGNITY: FOR 113 YEARS, AMERICAN LEPROSY MISSIONS HAS SERVED AS A CHANNEL OF CHRIST'S LOVE, HELPING PEOPLE WITH LEPROSY AND RELATED DISEASES TO BE HEALED AND RESTORED TO LIVES OF DIGNITY AND HOPE.
