Organizations Filed Purposes:
OUR MISSION IS TO INSPIRE, PREPARE, AND EMPOWER YOUNG PEOPLE TO OWN THEIR ECONOMIC SUCCESS BY DELIVERING EXPERIENTIAL PROGRAMS FOCUSED ON ACHIEVING FINANCIAL LITERACY, DEVELOPING ENTREPRENEURSHIP, AND TEACHING WORKFORCE READINESS SKILLS.
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: 120 CLASSES INVOLVING 2,007 KINDERGARTEN THROUGH FIFTH GRADE STUDENTS WERE TAUGHT BY 42 VOLUNTEERS. THE PROGRAMS DELIVERED SIX SEQUENTIAL THEMES INCORPORATING THE BASIC CONCEPTS OF BUSINESS AND ECONOMICS AND HOW EDUCATION IS RELAVENT TO THE WORKPLACE. THE SEQUENTIAL ACTIVITIES BUILD ON STUDIES FROM EACH PRECEDING GRADE AND PREPARE STUDENTS FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL AND LIFELONG LEARNING. EACH PROGRAM IS COMPRISED OF FIVE 30-45 MINUTE SESSIONS.
MIDDLE SCHOOL: 220 CLASSES INVOLVING 4,907 6TH-8TH GRADE STUDENTS WERE TAUGHT BY 159 VOLUNTEERS. MIDDLE SCHOOL JA PROGRAMS REINFORCE THE VALUE OF WORKFORCE READINESS, ENTREPRENEURSHIP, AND FINANCIAL LITERACY. STUDENTS ARE INTRODUCED TO MANY ECONOMIC CONCEPTS AND USEFUL FACTS ABOUT THE WORKING WORLD. THE CLASSES HELP THESE STUDENTS MAKE DIFFICULT DECISIONS ABOUT HOW TO BEST PREPARE FOR THEIR EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL FUTURE. THE PROGRAMS SUPPLEMENT STANDARD SOCIAL STUDIES CURRICULA AND DEVELOP COMMUNICATION SKILLS THAT ARE ESSENTIAL TO SUCCESS IN THE BUSINESS WORLD. EACH PROGRAM IS COMPRISED OF FIVE OR SIX 45-60 MINUTE SESSIONS.
HIGH SCHOOL: 138 CLASSES INVOLVING 3,083 9TH-12TH GRADE STUDENTS WERE TAUGHT BY 63 VOLUNTEERS. AS HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS BEGIN TO POSITION THEMSELVES FOR THEIR FUTURE, THERE ARE MANY UNANSWERED QUESTIONS ABOUT WHAT LIES AHEAD. JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT'S HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMS HELP STUDENTS MAKE INFORMED, INTELLIGENT DECISIONS ABOUT THEIR ACADEMIC AND ECONOMIC CHOICES, AND FOSTER SKILLS THAT WILL BE HIGHLY USEFUL IN THE BUSINESS WORLD. WITH A RANGE OF DIFFERENT PROGRAMS, JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT TEACHES ABOUT CONCEPTS RELATING TO ENTREPRENEURSHIP, FINANCIAL LITERACY, AND WORK READINESS. THE VOLUNTEERS BRING REAL-LIFE BUSINESS EXPERIENCE AND GUIDANCE INTO THE CLASSROOM AT A TIME THAT REPRESENTS AN ESSENTIAL CROSSROADS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE. PROGRAMS ARE TYPICALLY COMPRISED OF FIVE TO SEVEN CLASS PERIODS (45 MINUTES) OR ONE HOUR ENTREPRENEURSHIP CLASSES.
