Organizations Filed Purposes:
The Friends of the Hilton Head Library was organized as a non-profit organization to promote literacy and encourage the pursuit of life long learning through use of the library's resources. We raise funds to help our library be the first-rate public service our community values expect. The Friends buy books, equipment, and supplies that are not covered by county and state funding; we sponsor events and speakers that are interesting to our community; and we sponsor children's reading programs, as well as many other learning and growth opportunities for both children and adults.

The major portion of The Friends' annual revenue is for the acquisition of new materials and programs for the Hilton Head branch of the Beaufort County library system.
