Organizations Filed Purposes:
The Moncks Corner Lions Club was formed to empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding. We have worked tirelessly to aid the blind and visually impaired. Through SightFirst, the Club is restoring sight and preventing blindness on a local scale.
To aid the blind and the visually impaired.
Direct aid to approximately 15 individuals by providing eye glasses and/or eye exams. Also screened 6,200 Berkeley County School children for eye problems. Additionally supported the Storm Eye Institute, and the Lions Eye Van for hearing and vision checks. Contributed to other organizations directly involved in similiar activities.
Provided support to other local charities helping local area needy families
Provided three $1,000 college scholarships to local students.
