Our accomplishments for the 2019/2020 year include:New Staff:In January 2020, BWIM hired Lynn Brinkley as associate director. Meredith Stone began as the third executive director in BWIMs year 37-year history.Documentary Series Partnership with EthicsDaily.com (now Good Faith Media):BWIM and EthicsDaily.com have partnered in creating a series of short documentaries about Baptist women pastors. The third documentary will be filmed in 2020 and will feature a pastor in our current mentoring program, Danielle Bridgeforth.Mentoring Program:In January 2017, BWIM launched an official and more structured mentoring program. Fourcohorts of ministers have now been involved in this programone in 2017, one in 2018, and one in 2019, and one in 2020. The fourth cohort had their initial retreat in January 2020 and are currently participating in monthly one-hour to ninety-minute gatherings via ZOOM.Ministry Search Resources:BWIM offers resources and assistance both to churches searching for a minister and ministers searching for a new position. Included in the monthly e-newsletter is a list of current openings,and resources are provided on the website for both churches and candidates. Both churches and candidates in need of assistance may submit information, job descriptions, and resumes via BWIMs Ministry Search Registration Forms.Month of Preaching:BWIM sponsored the first Martha Stearns Marshall Month of Preaching in 2007. That year, 54 churches participated and invited a woman to preach during February. In 2020, 156 churches participated in BWIMs Month of Preaching.Office Hours:During the national pandemic, BWIM began hosting monthly office hours from March-June. These gatherings via Zoom have no set agenda but allow women to join and share any fears or anxieties they might have in this difficult season. The participants are from all over the US and the UK.Clergy Sexual Misconduct Task Force:In October 2018, BWIM and the Cooperative Baptist Fellowships joint Clergy Sexual Misconduct Task Force released two significant resources developed for use by churches, seminaries and partnering organizations.
