IN THE 2019-2020 YEAR, THE ORGANIZATION: RESPONDED TO 2,000 INQUIRIES AND SENT 1,000 WELCOME PACKETS TO NEWLY DIAGNOSED LUPUS PATIENTS. EDUCATED 1,500 INDIVIDUALS THROUGH 3 VIRTUAL SUPPORT GROUPS, 14 TELECONFERENCES, THE RALLY FOR LUPUS ANNUAL CONFERENCE, 2 IN-PERSON WORKSHOPS AND 2 VIRTUAL WORKSHOPS. THESE PROGRAMS ARE CONDUCTED BY PHYSICIANS AND CERTIFIED VOLUNTEERS. PROVIDED ELECTRONIC NEWSLETTER, "LUPUS NEWS," ISSUED MONTHLY AND DISTRIBUTED TO 25,000 CONSTITUENTS WITH UP-TO-DATE INFORMATION AND NEWS ABOUT LUPUS. CONDUCTED SOCIAL MEDIA OUTREACH WITH REGULAR POSTINGS, INCLUDING FACEBOOK WITH 6,274 FOLLOWERS AND 5,987 LIKES, TWITTER HAD 1,626 FOLLOWERS AND 684 TWEETS, AND INSTAGRAM HAD 465 POSTINGS WITH 738 FOLLOWERS. HELD THE "WALK TO END LUPUS NOW" EVENT IN FOUR CITIES: CAR PARADE IN DALLAS/FORT WORTH AND VIRTUAL EVENTS IN AUSTIN, EL PASO, AND SAN ANTONIO. THE EVENT PROVIDED LUPUS AWARENESS AND EDUCATION. THE EVENT ALSO PROVIDED IMPORTANT REVENUE TO SUPPORT THE CHAPTER'S PROGRAMS AND SERVICES FREE OF CHARGE TO CONSTITUENTS. THE CHAPTER SERVED OVER 18,000 INDIVIDUALS THROUGH DIRECT SERVICES FUNDED BY THESE EVENTS WITH THE HELP OF MORE THAN 2,800 VOLUNTEER HOURS. THE CHAPTER IS AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE TEXAS COALITION OF PATIENTS, THE PATIENT ACCESS FOR A HEALTHY TEXAS COALITION, AND WE WORK FOR HEALTH STATE COALITION.
