The mission of AANP is to empower all nurse practitioners to advance quality health care through practice, education, advocacy, research and leadership.
AANP provided an online National Conference in 2020. The conference had 10,550 registrants, of which 5,968 registrants viewed sessions. There were 94 NP poster presentations and 33 industry posters. Of those participants that viewed sessions, on average, they accessed 12.9 courses. Conference events and opportunities included 54 on-demand sessions, 5 semi-live events, 14 non-CE product theaters, student initiatives and an interest forum. The virtual experience allowed for networking via forums to have chat discussions on current issues affecting NPs.
AANP's legislative team represents nurse practitioners (NPs) and their patients on critical issues related to licensure, access to care, patient safety, health care reform, reimbursement, and other concerns at all policy levels. In addition to advocating on issues that impact NPs and their patients, AANP represents NPs on national committees and in health organizations.
The majority of AANP's grants are used to fund research and education. During 2020, AANP offered more than 234 continuing education activities and developed and distributed important health care resource tools for both providers and their patients. Additionally, in 2020, close to 377,000 CE certificates were issued to NPs.
