AARO CO-SPONSORED THE 8TH ANNUAL CENTRAL TEXAS WATER CONSERVATION SYMPOSIUM ATTENDED BY OVER 100 CENTRAL TEXAS STAKEHOLDERS.

THE AARO HEALTH COMMITTEE CONTINUED TO PURSUE ITS INTEREST IN ISSUES RELATED TO HEALTH CARE ACCESS FOR ALL IN 2019. PROVIDING CANCER CARE ACCESS TO THE UNINSURED AND UNDERINSURED BECAME A CRITICAL ISSUE FOR THE COMMITTEE. AT LEAST FIVE ADDITIONAL LARGE MEETINGS AND FOUR ADDITIONAL SMALLER MEETINGS WERE HELD TO FACILITATE THE CREATION OF A REGIONAL CANCER CARE MODEL THAT CAN BE USED ACROSS THE REGION AND TO SET UP TASK FORCES IN WILLIAMSON, BASTROP AND HAYS COUNTIES.

THE AARO VISION COMMITTEE WAS CREATED IN 2019 TO HELP PROMOTE AARO'S BRAND. DURING THE YEAR, THE COMMITTEE HELD TEN MEETINGS AS WELL AS FOUR WORKSHOPS TO CREATE AND DEFINE THE AARO OPERATING SYSTEM (AOS). THE AOS WILL BE USED TO HELP IDENTIFY REGIONAL ISSUES FOR MEMBER INFLUENCE WITHIN ALL OTHER COMMITTEES. A DRAFT EXTERNAL HANDBOOK WAS CREATED THAT HELPS TELL THE STORY OF AARO AND EXTERNAL MESSAGING WAS CONSIDERED FOR THE ORGANIZATION.
