ADRN'S MISSION IS TO GLORIFY CHRIST BY EQUIPPING, EMPOWERING, AND MOBILIZING A NETWORK OF CHURCHES TO RESPOND TO THE PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL AND SPIRITUAL NEEDS OF THOSE AFFECTED BY DISASTER (LUKE 10:25-37, EPHESIANS 4:12-16.)
OUR VISION IS TO HAVE AN ACTIVE, EMPOWERED NETWORK OF PREPARED CHURCHES, BRINGING HOPE INTO CRISIS THROUGH THE TRANSFORMING POWER OF JESUS CHRIST TO EVERY LIFE AND COMMUNITY WE SERVE. (REVELATION 19:7)
IN 2019, ADRN'S NETWORK OF CHURCHES AND VOLUNTEERS RESPONDED TO 89 DISASTER INCIDENTS IN THE FIVE-COUNTY AREA THEY SERVE, HELPING HUNDREDS OF INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IMPACTED BY DISASTER (HOUSE AND APARTMENT FIRES, SMALL FLOOD AND TORNADO INCIDENTS) AND PROVIDING EMOTIONAL, SPIRITUAL AND PHYSICAL CARE TO OVER 348 INDIVIDUALS. ADRN PROVIDED THESE FAMILIES WITH EMERGENCY FUNDING (GIFT CARDS); EMERGENCY TRANSPORTATION; EMERGENCY HOUSING (HOTELS); DISASTER GOODS AND SUPPLIES; FINANCIAL AID FOR THE REPAIRING/REBUILDING OF HOMES, FOR THE PURCHASE OF RV'S AND MOBILE HOMES AND FOR DEPOSITS AND RENT ON APARTMENTS; AND MUCH MORE. 18 OF THESE FAMILIES WERE SPONSORED BY LOCAL CHURCHES IN THE GREATER AUSTIN AREA. WE ALSO PROVIDED EMOTIONAL, SPIRITUAL AND PHYSICAL CARE TO 1,475 INDIVIDUALS IMPACTED BY TROPICAL DEPRESSION IMELDA IN HANKAMER, TX AND BEAUMONT, TX. IN 2019. OVER $3,250,000 WAS WAS GIVEN AWAY IN DISASTER SUPPORT IN 2019. THOUSANDS OF LIVES HAVE BEEN TRANSFORMED BY THE LOVE AND CARE OF ADRN'S VOLUNTEERS.DURING 2019, ADRN CONTINUED TO FUND BEHIND THE NEWLY FORMED CHURCH NETWORK, HIGHLAND LAKES CRISIS NETWORK (HLCN). TO DATE, THEY HAVE ASSISTED 680 FAMILIES GET BACK INTO SAFE AND CLEAN HOMES AND SPONSORED OVER 265 FAMILIES THROUGH THEIR NETWORK OF CHURCHES. HLCN UTILIZED THE FUNDING TO REBUILD/REPAIR HOMES, RV'S, USED VEHICLES, AND PAY FOR RENT AND UTILITY BILLS FOR SURVIVORS IN NEED.ALSO IN 2019, ADRN FUNDED INTO THE REPAIR AND REBUILDING OF 147 HOMES DAMAGED BY HURRICANE HARVEY IN 2017. ADRN PARTNERED WITH UNITED AID OF SOUTHEAST TEXAS, CHRISTIAN AID MINISTRIES, SAMARITAN'S PURSE AND C.A.R.E MINISTRIES IN BEAUMONT, PORT ARTHUR AND THE ROCKPORT, TEXAS TO PLACE PARENTS AND THEIR CHILDREN BACK INTO SAFE AND CLEAN HOMES!!ADDITIONALLY, ADRN PRE-LAUNCHED ITS NATIONAL TRAINING ACADEMY TO TRAIN FIVE NEW CHURCH NETWORKS TO FORM A DISASTER RELIEF ALLIANCE WITHIN THEIR OWN COMMUNITIES. FOUR OF THEM WERE IN U.S. CITIES AND ONE IN AN INTERNATIONAL CITY.ADRN'S HOPE FAMILY THRIFT STORE CONTINUES TO BE A HUGE ASSET FOR ADRN, PROVIDING FREE CLOTHING, SHOES, LINENS, UNDERGARMENTS, AND MUCH MORE TO 1,600 SURVIVORS IN 2019. TO DATE, HFTS HAS ASSISTED OVER 11,000 FAMILIES.ADRN ASSISTED HURRICANE DORIAN SURVIVORS BY SENDING ONE SEMI OF DISASTER GOODS AND SUPPLIES ALONG WITH FINANCIAL AID THROUGH A NETWORK PARTNER IN THE BAHAMAS.
ADRN'S EXTENSIVE TRAINING PROGRAM FOR EQUIPPING VOLUNTEERS TO BECOME PHYSICALLY, EMOTIONALLY & SPIRITUALLY READY REMAINED ACTIVE THROUGHOUT 2019 OFFERING 18 DIFFERENT TYPES OF DISASTER RESPONSE TRAININGS, 16 OF WHICH WERE OFFERED FREE OF CHARGE. ADRN'S 2019 TRAINING ATTENDANCE WAS ESTIMATED AT 1,133 VOLUNTEERS. THE 2019 TRAININGS INCLUDED COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM (CERT) TRAINING, CRITICAL INCIDENT STRESS MANAGEMENT (CISM) TRAINING, CPR/FIRST AID/AED, PREPAREDNESS PEACE FOR INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILY PREPAREDNESS.
