Organizations Filed Purposes:
Equity CDC works with units of government and low-income people to create, develop and administer housing programs for the rehabilitation, reconstruction, or new construction of low-income housing in primarily rural and underserved areas of Texas.
Equity CDC successfully completed accessibility modifications and rehabilitations of 13 low-income, single-family, owner-occupied homes as a direct recipient of Amy Young Barrier Removal (AYBR) Program funding from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA). The work was provided as a grant to the homeowners and was conducted in the City of Del Rio and the unincorporated areas of Val Verde County. This program service is an activity that accomplishes our exempt purpose and fulfills our mission. The funding for the work is provided in the form of grants from a unit of government for the benefit of individual, low-income homeowners and their private residences, not for the direct benefit government itself; therefore, there is no generation of revenue to be reported here as it is considered to be a contribution (government grant) and not revenue derived from program services. Also, there are no grants to be reported here as a subcategory of Equity CDC's program services expenses as Equity CDC did not make any grants in FY 2018. Equity CDC only administered government contributions in FY 2018.
