TWO OF THE PROGRAMS ARE HOUSED IN 6-UNIT APARTMENT COMPLEXES WHICH ALLOWS FOR RESIDENTS TO BE IN THE LEAST RESTRICTIVE ENVIRONMENT, WHILE STILL HAVING 24-HOUR SUPERVISION AND STAFF ASSISTANCE. ADDITIONALLY, THERE ARE SEVEN GROUP HOMES OPERATED IN THE AUSTIN AREA FOR RESIDENTS. ALL PROGRAMS INCLUDE: CASE MANAGEMENT, NURSING, STAFF ASSISTANCE AND SUPERVISION, BOOKKEEPING, INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILLS CLASSES, TRANSPORTATION, ASSISTANCE WITH MEAL PREPARATION, TAKING MEDICATIONS, AND HYGIENE. APPROXIMATELY 163 RESIDENTS WERE SERVED DURING THIS FISCAL YEAR.

THE BRAIN AND NEUROLOGICAL SERVICES OF THE MARY LEE FOUNDATION CONSIST OF THE REHABILITATION CENTER OF THE EXTENDED CARE PROGRAM. THE REHABILITATION CENTER IS A 24-HOUR SUPERVISED PROGRAM FOCUSED ON DEVELOPING THE SKILLS NECESSARY TO MAINTAIN COMPETITIVE EMPLOYMENT, TO ACCOMPLISH THE ACTIVITIES REQUIRED FOR DAILY LIVING, TO MANAGE SELF-MEDICATION, TO IMPROVE COGNITIVE SKILLS, AND TO ACHIEVE EMOTIONAL ADJUSTMENT AND EFFECTIVE INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS. SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON BOTH A RESIDENTIAL AND AN OUTPATIENT BASIS, DEPENDING UPON THE TREATMENT NEEDS. THE EXTENDED CARE PROGRAM IS AN EXTENSION OF THE MLFRC DESIGNED TO ENHANCE A SMOOTH TRANSITION FROM SUPERVISED RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT TO INDEPENDENT COMMUNITY LIVING. CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE TO FORMER CLIENTS AT AN ADDED COST. APPROXIMATELY 35 CLIENTS WERE SERVED IN THIS FISCAL YEAR.

THE COMMUNITY HOUSING PROGRAM OFFERS 40 AFFORDABLE APARTMENTS TO AUSTIN'S SENIORS, VETERANS, ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES, INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES WITH VERY LOW INCOME, AND ADULTS EXPERIENCING NEAR HOMELESSNESS. MANY OF THE APARTMENTS PROVIDED IN THIS PROGRAM ACCEPT RENTAL ASSISTANCE THROUGH AGENCIES SUCH AS HOUSING AUTHORITY, SECTION 8, VASH, AND VARIOUS OTHER PROGRAM VOUCHERS SPECIFIC TO THE CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE INDIVIDUAL. ADDITIONALLY, PRIVATE PAYMENT IS ACCEPTED AT AN AFFORDABLE RATE. THIS GIVES US THE OPPORTUNITY TO PROVIDE DIVERSE RESIDENTS WITH HOUSING OPTIONS THAT ALLOW THEM TO TAKE BACK THEIR INDEPENDENCE. APPROXIMATELY 46 CLIENTS WERE SERVED IN THIS FISCAL YEAR.
