Organizations Filed Purposes:
Movability, Inc. ("Movability") is a Central Texas Transportation Managment Association working hand in hand with organizations to improve the region's economic vitality by connecting organizations with mobility options that save time and money.
The Mobility Challenge and Membership: When an employer signs on to the Mobility Challenge, each participates in a process whose end result will be a plan as unique as that employer itself. Each Mobility Challenge plan takes into account the factors that make a workplace what it is, and the difficulties its employees face when it comes to commute. The end results have been a 3-5 years strategy to expand employee commute options.Together with the Translational Health Research Initiative at Texas State University, Movability launched a pilot project at the end of 2019 to show the data behind how people who work in Austin's Central Business District get to and from work. Through a survey of more than 600 people over a period of 60 days, starting November 13, 2019. The initial analysis of the data revealed a 60% drive-alone rate among participants was high, but not as high as previous estimates from the City, which showed a 74% drive-alone rate.Movability continued offering innovative and educational events to members, from webinar to training sessions, and hosting panel discussion events.
Communications: Movability seeks to help the public and Central Texas employers envision new transportation solutions through various communication channels, including social media, earned media, the Movabilitytx.org website, and the Let's Go News twice monthly newsletter. Through these channels, Movability shares information about successful employee commute program and policies and shares information from and about partners and members.Movability has a member only news letter, Member Lane.
