Organizations Filed Purposes: TO KNOW, LOVE, AND SERVE STREET-DEPENDENT YOUTH SO THEY MIGHT COME TO KNOW JESUS CHRIST THROUGH THE WITNESSING COMMUNITY WE DEVELOP.

STREET YOUTH MINISTRY HELPS OUR CLIENTS, OUR VOLUNTEERS AND SUPPORTERS, AND OUR COMMUNITY BY PROVIDING HUMANITARIAN SERVICES AND COUNSELING PROGRAMS SO THEY MIGHT COME TO KNOW JESUS CHRIST.

STREET YOUTH MINISTRY (SYMIN) SERVES STREET-DEPENDENT YOUTH ("CLIENTS") WITH THREE MAIN STRATEGIES: MEET THEM, GET THEM ENGAGED IN OUR CORE SERVICES, AND HELP THEM MAKE CHANGES TO THEIR LIVES AS THEY SET GOALS AND PRIORITIES. IN 2019, SYMIN COMPLETED OUR THIRD YEAR OF OPERATION IN OUR DROP-IN CO-OP CENTER IN AUSTIN NEAR THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS, HAVING TRANSITIONED FROM ENTIRELY POP-UP EVENTS IN BORROWED FACILITIES PRIOR TO 2017. WE ALSO MAINTAINED OUR REGULAR WEEKLY PRESENCE IN SAN MARCOS. IN 2019 WE MET 241 NEW CLIENTS (UP 14% FROM THE PRIOR YEAR). WE SERVED 513 UNIQUE CLIENTS, AN DECREASE OF 23% FROM 2018. WE HAD 14,864 POINTS OF CONTACT WITH CLIENTS, AN INCREASE OF 36% OVER THE PRIOR YEAR. WE MET AN AVERAGE OF 4.8 NEW CLIENTS EACH WEEK. CONTINUED ON SCH. O

SYMIN ORGANIZES AND TRAINS WORKERS THROUGH OUR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM. WE PREFER TO USE VOLUNTEERS, BECAUSE EACH BRINGS GOD-GIVEN GIFTS AND SKILLS NOT PRESENT IN OUR STAFF. RETURNING VOLUNTEERS PARTICULARLY SURPRISE AND DELIGHT CLIENTS BY DEMONSTRATING THAT SOMEONE CARES IN AN UNEXPECTED WAY. RECRUITING, ORGANIZING, THANKING, AND SUSTAINING HUNDREDS OF VOLUNTEERS WHO SHOW GOD'S LOVE TO CLIENTS IN UNEXPECTED AND DELIGHTFUL WAYS IS WHAT THE PROGRAM IS ALL ABOUT. SYMIN NEVER TIRES OF INVITING PEOPLE INTO MINISTRY. WE KNOW THAT, AS VOLUNTEERS MOVE FROM AUSTIN, THEY TAKE WITH THEM VALUABLE INFORMATION AND EXPERIENCES ABOUT HOMELESS YOUTH, WHO ARE PRESENT ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. CONTINUED ON SCH. O

THROUGH THE PUBLIC AWARENESS PROGRAM, THE ORGANIZATION TELLS STORIES FROM THE STREET UTILIZING MEDIA, PUBLIC SPEAKING, AND CLASS PROJECTS AT ALL LEVELS OF EDUCATION. STREET YOUTH ARE FREQUENTLY INVISIBLE, NOT UNDERSTOOD, AND UNDERSERVED. WE PROVIDE PUBLIC SPEAKERS, LEAD SERVICE PROJECTS, AND SEND OUT AWARENESS-RAISING NEWSLETTERS. OUR PUBLIC AWARENESS PROGRAM HAS SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASED THE VISIBILITY OF NEEDS FOR OUR POPULATION, AND WE HAVE BEEN JOINED IN THE PAST BY SEVERAL OTHER FAITH-BASED WORKERS WITH WHOM WE FIRST WORKED IN THE FIELD OF VOLUNTEER AND PUBLIC AWARENESS. OUR NEWSLETTER BASE IN 2019 IS 7,835 (UP 19% FROM 6,590 THE YEAR PRIOR). THAT INCLUDES OUR QUARTERLY (4,115), PRAYER (1,340), VOLUNTEER (1,535), AND CONTINUED ON SCH. O
