UWT HAS INCREASED THE CAMPAIGN THROUGH PROMOTING A UNIFIED MESSAGE AROUND THE CAMPAIGN, LAUNCHING A USER-FRIENDLY WEBSITE TO PROVIDE DETAILED INFORMATION REGARDING THE CAMPAIGN, PROVIDING HELPFUL TOOLS TO STATE EMPLOYEES TO HELP ADVANCE THE CAMPAIGN IN THEIR WORKPLACE AND RESEARCHING NEW WAYS TO PROMOTE AND GROW THE CAMPAIGN. THE TEXAS SECC CAMPAIGN IS ONE OF THE LARGEST STATE EMPLOYEE CAMPAIGNS IN THE COUNTRY.
START SMART TEXAS - START SMART TEXAS IS A PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN UNITED WAYS OF TEXAS AND TEXAS PBS THAT BUILDS ON RESEARCH TO EMPOWER PARENTS TO HELP WITH THEIR CHILD'S SUCCESS, AND WORKS TO SUPPORT FAMILIES, COMMUNITY LEADERS AND SCHOOLS TO BUILD A TEAM TO HELP EVERY CHILD SUCCEED IN SCHOOL AND IN LIFE. START SMART TEXAS WORK INCLUDES PROVIDING LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES TO COMMUNITY PARTNERS, MANAGING A TEXTING PLATFORM FOR PARENTS WITH YOUNG CHILDREN, AND CONVENING STATE PARTNERS TO ALIGN EFFORTS AND STRATEGIES. START SMART IS A STATE-LEVEL PARTNER OF THE NATIONAL CAMPAIGN FOR GRADE-LEVEL READING AND PROVIDES LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES AND RESOURCES TO COMMUNITY PARTNERS THAT ARE WORKING TO SUPPORT CHILDREN IN THEIR LEARNING AND HEALTH DEVELOPMENT.
TEXAS NON-PROFIT IMPACT PROJECT - UNITED WAYS OF TEXAS DEVELOPED A STATEWIDE NONPROFIT INITIATIVE TO INFORM TEXAS ON THE DEMOGRAPHICS, VALUE AND SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC IMPACT OF THE TEXAS NONPROFIT SECTOR. THE EFFORT IS A PARTNERSHIP WITH ONESTAR FOUNDATION, THE CENTER FOR TEXAS NON-PROFIT IMPACT PROJECT UNITED WAYS OF TEXAS AND THE ONESTAR FOUNDATION HAVE PARTNERED TO LAUNCH A STATEWIDE INITIATIVE FOCUSED ON SUPPORTING THE STATE'S NONPROFIT SECTOR. THE FIRST YEAR OF THIS INCLUDED GATHERING DATA ON THE STATE'S NONPROFIT SECTOR, CONDUCTING AN ECONOMIC IMPACT ANALYSIS AND RELEASING A REPORT THAT TELLS THE STORY OF THE VALUE AND IMPACT OF THE NONPROFIT SECTOR IN OUR STATE. ADDITIONAL WORK HAS INCLUDED DEVELOPING A WEBSITE FOR TEXAS NONPROFITS, ASSESSING NEEDS OF THE SECTOR, DEVELOPING MATERIALS TO SUPPORT REGIONAL CONVENINGS OF NONPROFITS, AND OVERALL ADVOCACY ON BEHALF OF THE STATE'S NONPROFIT SECTOR.
