Veritas is an independent Christian school in the classical tradition that prepares students for lives of service and learning through academic excellence, character development, biblical literacy, and intentional engagement opportunities.
In 2019-20, Veritas taught 202 students, grades PreK3-8. Veritas' academic programs provide a strong core of math, science, grammar and literature as well as Bible, history, fine arts, and PE. Veritas students competed with area schools in creative writing, math, science, speech, spelling and athletics. Veritas students donated over 2000 hours of volunteer service to the community.
In 2019-20, 5th-8th graders participated in the Cultural Expeditions Program (CEP). In CEP students experience the world outside the classroom, learning from widely varying experiences such as visiting museums and institutions of higher learning, exploring historical landmarks, attending theatrical productions, and biking around the National Mall and Central Park. The destinations include their state and national capitals, the historically rich cities of New York and Boston, and finally, England. In 2019-20, a trip to New York and Boston was added to the CEP.
The Veritas athletic programs consisted of Volleyball, Flag Football, Basketball, Track and Field, and Tennis. Middle Schoolers are offered the opportunity to participate in all sports. All teams compete in league groups against schools of similar size.
