The mission statement of The First Tee of Greater Tyler is to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values, and promote healthy choices through the game of golf. For 2019, this was accomplished through a series of 5-week, 7-week, and 4-day programs. The Spring program was attended by 90 participants; the Summer program was attended by 204 participants; the Fall program was attended by 160 participants; and the Winter program was attended by 5 participants. In addition, the organization was involved in the National School Program in which 8 elementary public and private schools from the Tyler, Lindale, and Whitehouse Independent School Districts and 3,625 students participated.
