Organizations Filed Purposes:
The mission of the Texas Master Gardener Association, in cooperation with the Texas Agricultural Extension Service, is to encourage and support educational projects for all Master Gardeners.
The Corporation operates exclusively as a voluntary non-profit literary, educational and charitable corporation in support of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service programs and to encourage and support educational projects for all master gardeners
The association receives dues from member Master Gardener Associations in Texas. There are 89 counties with master gardener programs. From these funds the association reimburses members in good standing of these Texas Master Gardeners Associations for a portion of the specialist fees these members incur. For example, a member from the Dallas County who takes a propagation specialist class is reimbursed $50 upon successful completion of the course.
In 2018 The Association held a educational conference in College Station. Dues and expenses were incurred in 2017 and concluded in 2018.
The Texas Master Gardeners Association sponsors an annual Master Gardener Awards Program. The awards are based on education to the public, participation in school programs and demonstration gardens. The judges are paid a fee for evaluating all the entries.
