Organizations Filed Purposes:
Primarily to encourage, guide, and fund additional research to improve understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of Riboflavin Transporter Deficiency ("RTD").
Cure RTD is proud to have funded the following research projects in advancement of the understanding and treatment of RTD: $49,723 to Children's Hospital at Westmead in Sydney, Australia. The first animal model for RTD (roundworms) were developed as part of this research. $50,000 to the University of Bari Aldo Moro in Italy. This funded Phase 1 of the study of RTD patient fibroblasts and neurons (brain) and helped us understand mechanisms of transport of riboflavin in neurons.
