Dallas Contemporary presents art in a forum that cultivates artists, ignites learning and inspires the community. Dallas Contemporary is a non-collecting art museum presenting new and challenging ideas from regional, national and international artists. The institution is committed to engaging the public through exhibitions, lectures, educational programs and events.
Events and Exhibitions: A non-collecting Kunsthalle-Style art space, Dallas Contemporary provides a showcase for emerging artists from Texas and around the world, placing Texas artists in an international context and bringing the inspiration of contemporary art to Dallas. It provides a comfortable, welcoming space where artists, the art-savvy, and art novices of all ages can come see, enjoy and broaden their artistic horizons. During 2019, Dallas Contemporary engaged 12,000 visitors through 10 major exhibitions featuring a total of 46 artists from Texas, the United States, and abroad.
Education and Membership: Dallas Contemporarys education and membership initiatives provide opportunities for the community to learn about and experience the world of contemporary art first hand. There are multiple levels of membership and a wide variety of educational activities to choose from. Members are provided with exclusive opportunities such as access to attend exhibition previews, visits with local and international artists, and social events hosted by DC. The education offerings include Chit Chat sessions for attendees to engage directly with contemporary artists, school and public tours, summer youth programs, and writing and drawing sessions hosted by local artists.
