ACADEMICS- DALLAS INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY OFFERS UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE DEGREES THAT TRAIN STUDENTS TO WORK WITH MINORITY LANGUAGE CULTURES IN THE AREAS OF LINGUISTICS, TRANSLATION, ETHNOARTS, AND CROSS-CULTURAL SERVICE. WE OFFER A BA WITH MAJOR IN INTERNATIONAL SERVICE; AN MA WITH CHOICE OF FOUR MAJORS: APPLIED LINGUISTICS, LANGUAGE AND CULTURE STUDIES, WORLD ARTS, AND ABRAHAMIC STUDIES; A PHD IN WORLD ARTS. GRADUATES OF ALL PROGRAMS ARE IN HIGH DEMAND BY NON-PROFIT SENDING AGENCIES.

STUDENT SERVICES - THE DALLAS INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY (DIU) LIBRARY COLLECTION CONTAINS OVER 50,000 ITEMS. MANY OF THE RESOURCES CONCENTRATE ON LINGUISTICS AND APPLIED LINGUISTICS, MINORITY LANGUAGES, LITERACY, TRANSLATION STUDIES, BIBLICAL STUDIES, ANTHROPOLOGY AND ETHNOLOGY, SOCIOLINGUISTICS, CROSS-CULTRUAL TRAINING, WORLD ARTS, AND AREA STUDIES. WHILE MOST OF THE ITEMS ARE BOOKS OR JOURNALS, THERE ARE ALSO SEVERAL THOUSAND COLLECTED ARTICLES AS WELL AS SEVERAL PRIMARY LINGUISTIC, ANTHROPOLOGICAL, RELIGIOUS, CULTURAL, AND EDUCATIONAL INDEXES THAT MAY BE ACCESSED AT THE LIBRARY. THE DALLAS INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY LIBRARY BOASTS A TROVE OF PRINT RESOURCES, BUT IT ALSO OFFERS ACCESS TO DIGITAL RESOURCES, INCLUDING OVER 300 ONLINE JOURNALS, DATABASES, INDEXES, NEWPAPERS, TUTORIALS, AND OTHER ONLINE LIBRARIES. WITH OVER 100 YEARS OF PROFESSIONAL LIBRARY EXPERIENCE AND MULTIPLE MASTER'S DEGREES, THE LIBRARY STAFF IS HIGHLY QUALIFIED TO CARE FOR THIS VALUABLE COLLECTION. FINANCIAL AID-WHILE DALLAS INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY STRIVES TO KEEP TUITION RATES LOW, STUDENTS WHO QUALIFY MAY ALSO RECEIVE FINANCIAL AID IN THE FORM OF DIU SCHOLARSHIPS AND WORK-STUDY. THE STUDENT BODY ASSOCIATION (SBA)- THE SBA SERVES PRIMARILY TO GIVE VOICE AND REPRESENTATION TO THE STUDENT BODY, PROVIDE CHANNELS OF COMMUNICATION TO DIU ENTITIES, AND TO INTEGRATE ALL PHASES OF EXTRACURRICULAR LIFE OF THE STUDENT BODY. OFFICERS OF SBA ARE ELECTED BY THE STUDENT BODY. THE SBA ALSO ELECTS A STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE TO THE DIU BOARD OF TRUSTEES, DIU FACULTY FORUM, COMPUTER ADVISORY COMMITTEE, LIBRARY COMMITTEE, SAFETY COMMITTEE, AND THE INSTITUTIONAL MASTER PLANNING COMMITTEE.
