Organizations Filed Purposes: EIF IS A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO PROVIDING COMPREHENSIVE COLLEGE PLANNING SERVICES AND PRODUCING LIFE CHANGING RESULTS FOR STUDENTS AND FAMILIES.

THE HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMS: On-campus Higher Education Advisors provide one-on-one interactive sessions as well as workshop to guide students through comprehensive college application, enrollment and financing processes. Students, totaling 120,102 in 20 Dallas Independent Schools and 5,808 in 5 Grand Prairie Independent Schools, have access to advisors daily during the school year. Over 21,000 college applications were completed. With this support, a college-going community is created among greatly under-served students who will most likely be the first in their families to go to college. EIF was awarded as one of the 10 Best College Access Organizations in the country by the Education Policy Institute. The National College Access Network gave EIF their Award of Excellence.

THE MAYORS INTERN FELLOWS PROGRAM: With this EIF-developed program, EIF partners with the Dallas Mayors office to provide paid 8 week summer internships with top companies and organizations to foster comprehensive job skills training and professional development. Three hundred ninety-five interns worked for 240 employers in the Dallas program. EIF also partnered with the Richardson Mayors office to inaugurate the intern program in that city with 92% of the Intern Partners stating that they were satisfied with the first-year program. Along with these internships, EIF has facilitated over 23,350 hours of workforce development training. The belief is that with career exposure, workforce readiness skills and post-secondary education, these students will become productive members of the workforce, and thus, the community.

OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES: The organizations other programs consist of college persistence, the EIF Mobile, Workforce Development, Points of Light Serviceworks, and expansion of the high-school program to Grand Prairie, Austin, and Marshall.
