FOCUS Learning Academy was founded in 1998 to serve students who have experienced academic difficulty in their educational career, as will as regular students. Students diagnosed as having learning disabilities, attention deficit disorders, pervasive developmental delays and other disabilities, have improved at FOCUS.
During the 2014 school year the school received a 10 year charter renewal from its regulatory body, the Texas Education Agency. It also graduated its fourth senior class during the 2015 school year.
