Organizations Filed Purposes:
Carry out the charitable and educational objectives of the North Texas Gay Lesbian Bisexual Transgender Chamber of Commerce; support young adults and nurture the development of leaders in the LGBT community.
LGBT LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE: The LGBT Leadership Institute develops leaders in the LGBT community. The program aims to provide historical perspective of the community and the LGBT equality movement, enhance leadership skills, and prepare the next generation of diverse leaders for greater community engagement. The program provides a safe and nurturing environment to develop skills and explore the critical issues facing the LGBT community. The program promotes networking, dialog, and best practices among leaders from across the community and encourages participants to apply their talent and skills for the benefit of the LGBT and overall community.
Scholarships: 2019 was the Foundations ninth year to fund college scholarships. A total of 5 scholarships were awarded totaling $9,500.
Diversity Conference: Texas Business Equality Conference; one-day conference with keynote speaker(s), breakout sessions with subject matter experts, and panel discussions. Approximately 100 attended this event.
