The sole purpose of Goodwill Industries of Dallas Foundation, Inc. (GWF) is to assist where needed the programs of Goodwill Industries of Dallas, Inc. (GWD), which in turn exists to provide job training and employment to persons with disabilities and disadvantages.
Goodwill Industries of Dallas, Inc. (GWD) hosts an annual fundraising event known as The Lunch. GWD has followed a practice of distributing the full proceeds from The Lunch each year to Goodwill Industries of Dallas Foundation, Inc. (GWF) with the understanding that GWF will bear all the costs of the annual event and will make periodic distributions of the net proceeds to GWD to provide support for its workforce development programs. GWF also makes an unrelated distribution to GWD from its net assets to support these programs. GWF continued to make these distributions to GWD in 2019. The GWD workforce development programs benefiting from these distributions include work adjustment training, job placement services, life skills training, case management, job readiness training and job coaching services.
