(TOTALS REFLECTED ARE FOR BOTH PROGRAMS.)
FAIR HOUSING ADVOCACY AND EDUCATION - (1) ENGAGING IN EDUCATION AND OUTREACH ACTIVITIES TO INFORM WALKER CLASS MEMBERS, OTHER LOW INCOME VOUCHER FAMILIES AND NEIGHBORHOOD GROUPS ABOUT NEIGHBORHOOD EQUITY, THEIR RIGHTS UNDER THE FAIR HOUSING ACT AND RELATED CIVIL RIGHTS LAWS AND (2) AVOCATING FOR COMPLAINCE WITH SUCH LAWS. Inclusionary Housing Initiative - Working to identify and implement strategies to create and expand affordable housing opportunities to low income families in low poverty, non-minority areas of the Dallas Metroplex. ICP and a related entity continued ownership and operation of single family homes that were purchased to provide affordable housing in non-minority areas of the Dallas Metro area. Managed by ICHDC & ICP, the sublease program seeks to increase access to units in low poverty non-segregated areas in apartment complexes where landlords do not accept DHA vouchers. The unit is leased from the owner and subleased to the voucher holder with ICHDC in contact with DHA and serving as the voucher holders landlord. ICPs Voices for Opportunity (VFO) initiative provides advocacy training for ICP clients, neighborhood groups, social service professionals and others interested in ensuring that safe, affordable housing is available to lower income persons in thriving neighborhoods throughout the Dallas region. Litigation and Administrative Advocacy - Engage in litigation and administrtive advocacy aimed at removing discriminatory barriers to low income families' access to rental housing opportunities in low poverty, non-minority areas of the Dallas Metro area.
Inclusive Communities Development Corporation (ICHDC) - A Texas non-profit corporation was formed in 2009 by ICP. ICP is the sole member of the corporation. The corporation was, in part, formed to purchase and operate properties on the behalf of ICP. ICP & ICHDC incentivized affordable housing development and provided subleased apartment units in low poverty, non-minority areas in the Dallas Metro. The financial activities of ICHDC are reflected in a separate form 990. As of November 6, ICHDC was merged into ICP.
