Organizations Filed Purposes:
THE MISSION OF THE ORGANIZATION IS TO BUILD CHRIST-HONORING, MUTUALLY-TRANSFORMING RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE FUTURE LEADERS OF WEST DALLAS AND BEYOND. THE ORGANIZATION EXECUTES ITS MISSION PRIMARILY THROUGH MENTORING, SPORTS, AND LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS FOR AT-RISK YOUTH IN THE WEST DALLAS COMMUNITY.

MENTORING - THE MERCY STREET MENTORING PROGRAM BUILDS LONG-TERM, MUTUALLY TRANSFORMING RELATIONSHIPS WITH CHILDREN IN WEST DALLAS WITH THE GOAL OF RAISING INDIGENOUS LEADERS WHO WILL LEAD POSITIVE, PERMANENT CHANGES IN THEIR COMMUNITY. MERCY STREET'S MENTORING PROGRAM IS FOCUSED ON INSTILLING HOPE THROUGH ENCOURAGING, SUPPORTIVE RELATIONSHIPS CENTERED ON THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST.DURING THE YEAR ENDING AUGUST 31, 2019, APPROXIMATELY 200 MENTORS PROVIDED SYSTEMATIC AND REGULAR MENTORING SUPPORT THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
SPORTS - THE SPORTS PROGRAM INCLUDES FALL AND SPRING LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL LEAGUES, A FALL AND SPRING SOCCER LEAGUE, A MAJOR FALL BASEBALL CAMP, AND MULTIPLE SUMMER FOOTBALL CAMPS. IN ADDITION TO DEVELOPING ATHLETIC SKILL AND PERSONAL CHARACTER, COACHES AND CHILDREN INVOLVED IN THESE PROGRAMS ARE PRESENTED WITH THE GOSPEL IN FULFILLMENT OF THE GREAT COMMISSION. WE HAD APPROXIMATELY 1,000 CHILDREN INVOLVED IN THESE PROGRAMS IN 2018-19 WITH APPROXIMATELY 150 COACHES. IN ADDITION, MERCY STREET OPERATES THE SPORTS FACILITY FOR USE BY MULTIPLE COMMUNITY PARTNERS INCLUDING NEIGHBORING SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS.
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT - THE LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE TRAINS HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE-AGED STUDENTS IN LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT THROUGH YEAR-ROUND LEADERSHIP GROUPS, A SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM, AND AN ALUMNI ASSOCIATION. MERCY STREET OPERATES THESE PROGRAMS TO DEVELOP SERVANT LEADERS THAT WILL SPARK TRANSFORMATION IN THEIR COMMUNITIES FROM THE INSIDE OUT. APPROXIMATELY 30 STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN YEAR-ROUND LEADERSHIP GROUPS AND ALUMNI EVENTS. THE SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM WAS NOT CONDUCTED IN 2018-19, BUT RETURNS IN 2019-2020.
