Organizations Filed Purposes:
The Optical Women's Association (OWA) has the primary exempt purpose to enhance and promote the leadership role of women in the optical industry through networking, education and peer support.
Professional Development Workshops for optical women provided unique educational opportunities, both regionally and in conjunction with major trade shows, and via online webinars, for members and guests to explore topics of interest to women working in the optical industry, enriching their personal and professional lives. More than 900 persons benefitted from these workshops during 2019.
One-Minute Mentor e-mail blasts were delivered twice monthly to all OWA members, providing quick tips for professional growth and development. These messages are contributed by members of the Mentoring Committee and were distributed to more than 900 members throughout 2019.
Networking events provided a forum for the exchange of ideas and information among women and men, members and non-members, representing all levels of the industry. More than 1200 persons participated in and benefitted from the 4 networking events held during 2019.
