Guided by principles of human compassion and dignity, our mission is to welcome refugees, immigrants, and other displaced people and support them in integrating and thriving in their new communities. We provide assistance to refugees and other displaced people fleeing persecution based on race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group as well as to the communities that welcome them. RST provides services to refugees, asylees, survivors of human trafficking, and related vulnerable populations from over 30 different countries of origin each year. RST works in partnership with faith-based communities, businesses and volunteers to provide clients with employment assistance, initial housing, household goods and furniture, case management, resources, referrals, education and guidance to assist in establishing self-sufficient lives in Texas. RST has offices in Dallas, Austin, Amarillo, Fort Worth, Houston and Harlingen.

RST provides resettlement services for arriving refugees through the federal refugee admissions program which included activities such as arrival reception, housing set-up and furnishing, cultural orientation, benefits referrals and case management for basic needs for the initial period post-arrival. RST also provided employment placement services and cash assistance for eligible clients. RST served 2776 refugees, asylees, and other displaced persons in FY 2020.
Survivors of Trafficking Empowerment Program (STEP) provides high quality, victim-centered case management and comprehensive services that address the individualized needs of victims of all forms of human trafficking (adults, minors, domestic born, foreign born, labor, sex). STEP also provides support and expanded education, awareness, and training to local communities and law enforcement agencies on the identification and reporting of labor and sex trafficking. STEP is predominantly funded by DOJ and HHS/TVAP; direct client services include shelter/housing assistance, medical/dental/mental health care, substance abuse treatment, interpretation, employment and educational assistance, legal services, and victim advocacy. Provided total program expenses for this program for FYE2020 and any grants passed through to subs.
